1. Analysis Objective
You can compare the pedestrian flow in front of your assets with your potential new locations and competitors in the last 3, 6, or 12 months compared to the same period in another year.
Vehicle flow is not available yet for traffic trends.
2. Methodology and Computation
The data is updated once per month, on the 8th, for the last month.

3. How to use it
- Choose from the drop-down menu "Evaluated assets" (1) the assets you want to perform the analysis on.
- Pick the time granularity (2) of interest (last 12, 6, or 3 months)
Assets analysed will be easy to recognize thanks to the first four columns:
- Name of the asset
- Flag of the country
- Category: Asset of your portfolio, potential next location, and your competitors
- Asset category: An icon reflecting the type of assets (e.g. address, shopping centre, shopping area, store)
Based on the filters applied, you will see the following insights:
- The monthly average pedestrian traffic for each asset and for the time period selected.
- The evolution percentage for this asset compared to the previous year
- 💡If you filter on the last 12 months, you can access the average pedestrian traffic per month by clicking on the green arrow to the right of “Pedestrian” (3).
You can access to an additional level of information by clicking on "View Graph" (4).
- Define a custom period
- Choose a comparison period if needed
- Weekly view: Analyse the pedestrian traffic per week during the defined period and compare it to the average per week on this period. Move your mouse over the circle to see the footfall per week.
- Monthly view: Analyse the pedestrian traffic per month during the defined period and compare it to the average per month on this period. Move your mouse over the circle to see the footfall per week.
4. How to read it
Example: Over the last 12 months, an average of 140,900 visitors came to the Hyper U per month (a decrease of 0.31% on the same period last year). Over this period, the busiest month in terms of footfall was July 2023, with 515,400 visitors. Meanwhile, February 2024 was the quietest month, with 251,900 visitors.
Here are some use cases and advice on how to interpret this analysis effectively.
-
Detect future trends based on traffic trends.
-
Analyse the recovery of a site from Covid-19.
-
Measure performance by analysing traffic week by week.
-
Observe the seasonality and highlights of a site over time.
