Advanced algorithms validated with manual counts
MyTraffic has developed a unique methodology to offer its customers the most reliable and accurate analyses. We couple our geolocalisation data with manual counts and measurement devices to ensure that the adjustment of our raw data is as close as possible to the field experience.
For example, for an address-related analysis, we count the people walking in the street. For shopping centres, we place people in charge of counting at each entrance. We complete our methodology with sensor data collected continuously.
Since its inception, MyTraffic has tested multiple technologies before opting for physical counting, which remains the most reliable source. Optical sensors, laser, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi... we have experimented with all these technologies, which have quickly shown their biases and limitations when not corrected by manual counts.
We then associate these field measurements with our massive datasets to scale our algorithms to Europe, moving from the discrete nature of field measurements to statistics covering the entire territory.
These measurements are regularly updated to ensure that our algorithms stay connected to the reality on the ground.
Our algorithms are run daily for intermediate daily data and once a month to calculate the final statistics presented in the product.
